Surface preparation

Surface preparation ensures the after Anode Treatment surface features as aimed. It includes both quality improving (like de-burring) and surface beneficiation (like surface roughening).
Burrs and other defects of machining are often unavoidable. Among Anode Treatment Processes, only Electropolish and Etching are capable to remove these defects, but their chemical abilities must be saved and more efficiently used for their unique surface treatment tasks, that is why pretreatment removing of such defects is neccessary . For this purpose, mechanically based methods are run at the Company, by operating Semi-authomatic Abrasive Blasting Machine, Authomatic Abrasive Blasting Machine 014 and Magnetic Media Rotating Tumbling Machine.
Surface preparation of incoming parts became obligatory as well in cases of oxide coloring, resulted from heat-provoked surface oxidation. Though most Anode Treatment Processes (except Passivation) are able to remove such disturbing areas, it is a prerogative of an operating technologist to decide to use this ability, or to run for the spot removing other tecnique, like Abrasive Blasting or Tumbling, or (prefferably) one of Electro-chemical processes for color removing, developed and run at the Company.
In many cases, a surface preparation processing is a substantial part of the process sequence, for beneficiating the surface and bringing to it special qualities, like Alumina Blasting pre-roughening at Finish Line CST Process 7.5.3 for surface formation of dental implants, or Chemical Heavy-duty Decoloration Processing for Stainless Steel parts having strong oxide coloration which occured to be neccessary for special thermal tretment.
