Etching

Etching is an old craft which technically comprises a vigorous anode treatment process, widely exploited in industry for engraving or cutting-through of metals.
Our Surface Etching processing is a way for treatment the metal surface as a whole, for applications demanding uniform roughness and porosity of the surface for medical, optics, mechanical etc. purposes. The degree of roughness depends on electrolyte chosen and the etching process parameters. For deep roughness or for clearly identified surface porosity, mechanical or others surface pretreatments may be used, see example of a part with rough surface due to blasting and etching.
Our experience in the Surface Etching processing has been especially developed when the Company has entered the Dental Implants field of activity, and our Finish Line CSTTM process 7.5.3, using abrasive blasting pretreatment followed by double acid etching, was elaborated and commercially run now for the purpose.
The size of parts treated at our Etching lines may be from tens microns to 500 mm and more, with capacity up to tens of thousands units per 8-hours shift, depending on parts dimensions.
